WHO ARE WE?
Local 154 is part of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States and Canada (I.A.T.S.E.). The I.A.T.S.E. represents technicians who serve all parts of the entertainment industry including live theatre, motion picture and television productions, television broadcast, trade shows, and exhibits as well as the construction shops that support these events.
In June 2016, I.A.T.S.E. Local 154 was born. The skilled craftspeople and artisans dedicated to staffing, building and maintaining the productions at The Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon sought after better working conditions and to have their voice at the table. Currently the local is comprised of 75+ members from 5 stagecraft departments. We represent all crew members behind the scenes including wardrobe, hair/wigs, and makeup, lighting and video, sound, and stage operations.

Since receiving our charter, our Local has been active not only in our community but also working closely with District One, and with The I.A.T.S.E. International at large. We are proud of our many active committees, one of which helped ensure the majority of our members earning their OSHA 10 cards. It is this initiative and leadership that we encourage in all our members, in which we raise each other up and consistently strive to improve our skills and working conditions.
The I.A.T.S.E. was founded 125 years ago and Local 154 is proud to continue the legacy of providing safe working environments, equitable contracts, and pushing for transparency across the board. We are a young and diverse membership, built of impassioned people who are proud to continue the magnanimous legacy of labor rights in the United States of America. What do we do? We do the work.
Union Strong. Union Proud.
